This bike is one of the best bikes I have ever rode and I have rode many. It has great shifting and is really easy to brake the shifters are in a weird place but it is cool. The brakes are amazing, they will stop on a dime

I looked aroud for a while looking for a decent road bike to upgrade to from a 1973 panasonic sport 500 that was 2 sizes too small for me. Im not looking to run the tour de france, just head out an avg 30-40 miles and sometimes knock out a 70+mile run. After googlinng the Vilano, nothing negitive came up so I decided to give it a try. I setteled on the tuono RS only for the color, flat black. To be honest if you line the bikes up and compare them there is miniscule differances. Payment was easy, shipping was fast and the bike came almost put together. The bike did get damaged durring shipping. I contacted customer service who contacted me back within 12 hrs on a weekend which shocked me. A few pics of the damage on a reply emal with an order number the replacement parts were sent the next day, A+ customer service. Bike rides smooth and fast, anthing is faster than the led weight I was riding. The shifters work beter than they look. They fit your hands great, where all you need to do is flick your wrist to change gears. The position they mount limits your selection/mounting options for aero bars. I had to upgrade to brifters to have my cake and eat it too. The front end wobbles a bit on the jersey roads above 25 mph from the steel forks, so carbon fiber upgrade is in the near future. Flat black although sexy as hell on a bike is a nightmare to keep clean. The typical issues but a greeat entry level bike, even at twice the price. Easy to put together, but recomend taking it to a shop after 100 miles or so to have everything readjusted and set.

If I had the option to go back a week, I would have bought the same bike again. My only complaint with the bike is not having all the specs on it. The only issue I have with the company is not having a larger selection of parts to upgrade to like Nashbar or other sites. (Posted on 6/14/11)

I've had my Vilano Tuono for 2 months and I highly recommend this bike...I took mine to my LBS and had them tune it up the day after it arrived,$60.00 (I could have just purchased the pr-build)..It's as nice as the higher end bikes that cost 3 times as much..Ordered a second for my wife...Thank you,RBO (Posted on 5/3/11)

When I bought this bike I was very hesitant. I did not want to pay for a really expensive bike because I am very frugal and feel that no bike is worth a month salary. I also, didn’t want to get something I can just go to Wal-Mart and pick up. Well, I got my bike and it was exactly what I was expecting. Not a bike that floats in the air, but for the money it is well worth it. When people see it they think I spent a month’s salary, but are surprised to hear what I paid for it. Now this bike is not perfect, the position of the gears is not the greatest place and there is not much room to add my gadgets, like chronometer or an MP3 player. I was disappointed when I opened and found it was a 14 speed. I don’t know how to read all the specs correctly and which it was clearly stated. Overall, I am enjoying my bike very much. I am not a weekend rider just a commuter 15 miles round trip. I have used other bikes, but this is the top performer for my commute. (Posted on 5/2/11)

I bought the 2011 Vilano a couple of weeks ago and couldn't be happier with it. I priced some more expensive bikes but didn't really have the money at the time so based on the reviews I'd seen for last years model, I went ahead and got it. WOW! It is good looking and fast. Bike snobs would likely criticize it, but don't waste your money on a brand name, this is the one. Get a good tune-up and it's the best thing on the road.
