just recieved this bike ups in 2 days, i love the odd look and ride, and i get plenty of comments on the bright orange paint! i have purchased 3 single speed bikes from you and loved them all as well...
So i commute 14 miles a day back and forth to work. I bought this bike to replace my $117 mountain bike from walmart.
Its solid, nothing is going anywhere-
Flip-flop rear hub is awesome, thou i like to coast so its on the 16T freewheel.
Nice platform pedals-
Paint looks NICE!
Seat post is 25.4 and DOES NOT have a universal head. It would not work with my saddle seat i have for my mountain bike. Had to go out and buy a new seat post -$10 i didnt plan on spending. Will work with straight rails, but tilt is way limited. I ride aggressive position.
Overall, its a different experience then a MTB, i needed a SS bicycle that had a freewheel and not a beach cruiser. This fits the bill. The bike sits a little low from what im use to, but i imagine i will get use to it. Its 700c which is awesome, once you get up to speed you fly. Not digging the one front brake. i cant slam on it or else be thrown over the front, so i have to pump it slowly if im hauling downhills or what not.
I have mine in the orange finish. Its a sexy looking bike, besides the seat post and needing schradder adapter valves to inflate the tires, its overall "bulletproof" as it says in the description.
Also, this is a BMX INSPIRED SS. The handlebars are low, i plan on buying a carbon fiber spacer to raise it just a little.
Overall im happy with it. It will last forever. The beauty is in its simplicity. no tuning like on my MTB where i was always having to adjust EVERYTHING. When it comes time, i can paint it a million times, would only take 10 mins to strip the bike down to frame. IT handles road to sidewalk and sidewalk to road rather well. Dont attack a high curb, thou im sure the rims could take it.
Perfect sidewalk SS commuter IMHO.
