  1. Solid Bike! Great feel! Amazing looks! Review by E-Don

This is my first road bike I've owned, haven't road a bike in years and I flew right out in the busy streets of Boston Massachusetts with this thing.
The Bullhorn handles and flat silver makes everyone stare. Great feel and super thin wheels makes this thing fly!

Shipped in just a few days....for free. Anything close to this bike in Boston (trust me I looked) will cost you $400-700. So thanks roadbikeoutlet!
I did struggle a bit with assembly, but I knew NOTHING about bikes when I got this. Just watch the assembly video over and over again, although the video itself could totally be re-done, really hard to see some of the instructions.

If you are like me and know little about road bikes:
You WILL NEED a presta pump. Standard road bike valves but I've never seen them before cause I'm a noob. Do some research on the valves.
I got a bicycle tool set to assist in the assembly.
    Get a Krypto lock.

ONLY CON: Seat hurts after some bumpy riding...definitely buying some sort of pad TONIGHT!

  2. Stylish, fun to ride Review by chrismwg

I have a $5000 Merlin Extralight that I ride when I want to climb mountains as fast as possible. This bike is not about being ultra light or breaking the sound barrier: it's about style, and I think it does an impressive job for the price. I've been around quality bikes for around 3 decades, and the components on this one are solid and smooth. Unlike some other posts, I like the saddle/pedals. It came very well packed. I had to true the front wheel a bit, and one pedal doesn't turn as smoothly as it might, but no big deal. I would dream about having lighter wheels, but for the price I can't really complain. I'm 5'9" and the 54cm model fits me perfectly.

Very "zen" riding this bike. Hats-off to whoever designed it ... they managed to ring my style bells. Really cool. (Posted on 8/18/11)

  3. Solid Basic Bike Review by RAR1118

Bought this about 6 weeks ago, after nearly two weeks of online and in person searching for a single speed to replace my ancient hybrid retro- fitted to be a single speed. Ordering and delivery were a breeze. assembly was straight forward, although a basic primer on threadless headsets would have been nice (this is my first). Single speed gear was easy to install. Frame is a quality TIG welded chrom-moly. Components are pretty much what you would expect at this price point - some exceeded expectations (Handle bar, crank set), and some did not meet expectations (Brake pads). I have ridden it on my daily commute (18 mile RT) for over a month with no problems beyond brake adjustment as cables stretch. Quiet and smooth ride. Would definitely repeat this purchase. One request - include locking ring with presta valves. without the ring the stem pushes down into the plastic bevel covering on the rim when filling them. since they are oversized, I cannot use my old rings. 6. Great Bike Review by Steezy

Best choice for someone new to the field of fixies. Looks great and it's extremely cheap. The only thing I didn't like was the saddle. (Posted on 8/11/11)

  8. satisfied customer Review by Njrider

I've had the bike for a little less than a month and it's been great so far. The ride is a dream mostly because I'm used to an aluminum frame. I've gotten used to the seat though the pedals had to go. Replaced them with some poly bmx platform pedals which are great for stability. Others are absolutely right that it's a different way of riding and actually takes a ride or two to get used to the fixed gear. The ride is so quiet that you get to appreciate what's going on around you instead of hearing the freewheel, derailer etc. Love the simplicity. You really can't beat the price for what you get. 9. Solid Bike Review by Blue

This is the first fixed-gear bike I have bought, and I must say I'm very happy with it. It rides very smoothly and handles very well. The bike is beautiful and looks probably even 10 times better in person. The Handlebar tape and bar plugs are pretty poor quality, but easily replaceable. The seat is a bit on the hard side, but that is expected for a bike in this price range. Overall I love it, and would recommend it to someone looking for their first fixed gear. (Posted on 8/8/11)

  10. great bike for the money Review by ekopp

I bought the Gavin FISSO on roadbikeoutlet.com and am very satisfied so far. I have ridden it 5 times in the past two weeks around NYC.

    pros:
    - feels well made, especially for the price.
    - responsive handling and performance. it feels solid when riding and performance has exceeded my expectations.
    - light, easy to transport.
    - looks great. i get compliments on it. i bought the grey color and it looks even better in person than online.
    - fast free shipping.

    cons:
    - seat is horribly uncomfortable. i used to ride a mountain bike with a comfortable seat and the seat that comes with this bike is hard and uncomfortable. after a medium length ride (like 45 min) it is hard to keep sitting on the seat.
    - i have a big frame (6'1") and find that the headset/handlebars are too low for me. i might look into replacing them down the road.
    - pedals are too small for my feet and their weighting is slightly awkward so it makes it hard to step into the pedal straps. (Posted on 7/12/11)
