Got this bike back in June 2011. It is now over an year and this bike has been great from day 1. Brought the bike on impulse but it's been a good decision.
I regularly ride it and love every minute of it. I recommend putting good rim tapes to prevent flats from the spoke running into the tube. I'm 5'8" and 50 cm fits me very well.
I got this bike after almost getting the single speed model. I haven't been on a bike in a long time. Needed the bike for exercising but didn't wanna spend a grand. I had it assembled and tuned @ a bike shop but after a few short rides I wasn't happy. The components are super cheap. I eventually got a nice TREK mountain bike and while shopping for pedals in a different shop I decided why not bring the VILANO for a 2nd tune up. I got clips for it too. I don't know what happened but the tune up job this 2nd shop did on the VILANO turned it around for me. I now LOVE my bike and have been putting 10 miles/day on it every day. It's a fast fast bike, the gears stay in place and the brakes do an ok job. I find it to be very light and responsive. It still a cheap bike with some very entire level components. My mechanic suggested I stay away from upgrading them because I'll end up spending more than the bike is worth. This VILANO has really got me interested in road riding which I never thought I'd even consider. It's a good buy for the price and when I got it this bike was the only I could afford. I will get a road bike but will def keep this one. One thing I suggest is changing that saddle. The stock one is like sitting on a 2 x 4, even with riding pants.
My bike arrived on schedule via UPS yesterday. The box the bike shiped in managed nto nsurvive the trip from Fla. in one piece. The bike was well protected under 2 layers of protective skins and removing them was no problem. There were no dings or scratches on the bike and the quality of the frame construction was just fine especially for the price the bikes are sold for. You won't find a better bike for twice the cost. If you ca n follow simple instructions you will have your bike fully assembled and adjusted in under an hour, including peeling off the wrapping.
If you don't feel comfortable with doing the minor adjustments,by all means take the bike to a local bike shop, they will be more than happy to make sure your bike is properly setup. Shops don't mind working on a bike you bought elsewhere, to them it is a chance to introduce you to their many offerings including sells of items you will always need along the wayhey may also have bike rides for all levels of experienced riders you ca n join in on. So buy this mbike, and get ready to get healthy and have fun and meet other riders in your area.
I recently purchased this bike and when it arrived it had a few minor scratches and one bad tube. I emailed customer service and had a response within 24 hours. They took care of the issue. I am very happy with the bike and so impressed with the customer service. Great company!
